So, that's what sex is.

Or is it? Can we really define sex in a few sentences? Is sex really just gender, reproductive organs, intercourse and genitals?

Ask random people on the street what sex is, and I'm sure you'll garner a large share of odd looks, quite a few people blushing, a few stumbling to explain it, and then...the rare few, those who will unabashedly tell you what sex is to them.

I am one of those unashamed people. I also fall into the blushing group, but I will still tell you what sex is to me. It's more than gender, more than reproduction, more than intercourse, and definitely more than genitalia.

Sex is all of the above and more. It's mental, physical, spiritual. It's a fact of life. A joining of two bodies into one. A feeling that no other natural or man made stimulant can reproduce. Every living organism on this planet has sex. Some have it with themselves. Some need the aid of other organisms to complete the act of sex. Some do it simply for reproduction. Some do it simply for the pleasure that it brings. Sex is a stress reliever, a stimulant, a downer, a high, a low.  Some enjoy sex more than others. Some keep it simple, while others take it to the extreme.

All of our senses are involved in sex, many even heightened. Different sights, sounds, aromas, tastes and textures all stir feelings of arousal in our brains. We attach memories to these senses, desiring them again to bring back the chemical response that makes us happy. And we don't just do it once, we do it over and over again. We long for sex, want it, need it...dare I say lust after it.

Why?

Because, ladies and gentlemen, sex, in all it's various forms, IS normal.
